When we found out we were expecting last October, we quickly began discussing where exactly baby was going to live??? I mean, with us of course, but in our 900 sq.ft., 1 bedroom condo with a 90 lb dog, there wasn't exactly a ton of room for a new addition and all of the things that come with baby. We began brainstorming and quickly decided to turn our dining room into the nursery. Who eats at a dining room table anyway, amiright? We were sad to see our dining room space go but delighted about the refreshing new (and super adorable) space that was created.
Dining Room Before
We hired a contractor to build the interior wall and double pocket door rather than a traditional bedroom door. Best. Decision. Ever. With two main sources of light in our condo, this room being one of them, we wanted a wider door opening to let that light in during the day. We also thought a double pocket door would give the space a multi-purpose feel for resale. People could see it as a bedroom, office, nursery, or even a dining room if needed.
